Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-20
By downloading or using MacFleek, you agree to these terms. They are deliberately short and in plain English. If anything is unclear, email hello@macfleek.store.
1. The app
MacFleek is a macOS application that scans for and removes unwanted files, manages installed applications, and provides system maintenance utilities. It is provided in two tiers:
- Free tier — all 169 cleanup rules, App Uninstaller, Orphan Finder, Menu-bar Quick Actions, Maintenance, Login Items, and the full CLI. Free for personal and commercial use under the MIT License.
- Pro tier — unlocks Duplicate Finder, Disk Treemap, Smart App Updater, and Scheduled Cleaning. $29 one-time payment. License is non-refundable after 14 days; see refund policy below.
2. License grant
You own your Pro license. Once issued, the Ed25519-signed JSON file is yours to keep and use on any number of Macs that you personally own. The license is tied to your email address as a human identifier, not a device. You may not:
- Resell, sublicense, or distribute the license file to others.
- Use a single license across multiple unrelated organizations.
- Publish your license publicly (we will revoke it).
If you switch email addresses, contact us and we will reissue the license under the new address at no charge.
3. Pricing and refunds
Pricing is $29 USD (or local currency equivalent) one-time, for lifetime use including all future updates. We do not change the price of an existing license.
14-day refund policy. If within 14 days of purchase you are unhappy for any reason, email refund@macfleek.store from your license email and we will issue a full refund through your original payment method. No justification needed.
After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion. We are usually generous; just ask.
4. Open source license
The MacFleek source code is released under the MIT License. You can fork it, modify it, sell modified versions — anything the MIT License permits. The Pro feature gating relies on a license signature that only we can produce; forks without our signing key cannot sell Pro licenses that the official build accepts.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use MacFleek to:
- Delete files on a computer you do not have permission to operate.
- Build a competing product that literally copies the bundled cleanup rules YAML database and ships it without attribution. (Forking the codebase is fine — see MIT License. We just ask for credit on the rules file specifically.)
- Submit MacFleek itself to the Mac App Store under a different name. (The MIT License technically allows this, but the App Store guidelines forbid it and Apple will reject your submission.)
6. Data safety
MacFleek is designed to be safe, but no software is perfect. You should:
- Maintain backups. Time Machine is built into macOS — use it.
- Review what's selected before clicking "Clean". Risky rules are not pre-selected, but moderate rules are. Read the descriptions.
- Stop and ask if a category claims more space than seems right.
We move files to the Trash by default — you can recover anything until you empty the Trash. The only operation that bypasses Trash is the literal "Empty Trash" Quick Action, which by definition cannot recover.
7. Warranty disclaimer
MacFleek is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the software, including but not limited to data loss, regardless of legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.
This is the same boilerplate every MIT-licensed open-source project includes. It exists to protect us from frivolous lawsuits, not to dodge real responsibility. If something genuinely goes wrong, email us and we'll do our best.
8. Termination
You may stop using MacFleek at any time. We may revoke a Pro license if it leaks publicly or is used in violation of section 5, with reasonable notice.
9. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date and post a note in the GitHub repository. Substantive changes will be emailed to all license holders.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MacFleek's operator is incorporated. As of this writing, that is determined per-buyer based on the payment provider used (Polar's MoR for international purchases, the Russian Federation for YooKassa, the buyer's jurisdiction for crypto). Disputes are resolved by direct negotiation first and good faith arbitration second.
